I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and decided to become an orthodontist when I was young and in braces myself. Beginning at age 15 and continuing on through college, I worked as a camp counselor and canoe guide at a boys\' camp in northern Minnesota. While in dental school, I spent my summers working for Parks and Recreation as a coach and playground supervisor. In working with children, I learned how important it is for them to experience positive mentoring and gain self-assurance. I also found that being a mentor was extremely satisfying and a wonderful opportunity for me.

After graduating from dental school at the University of Nebraska, I was selected for a one-year general dentistry residency as part of my tour of duty in the U.S. Army. Following my short military career, I joined the faculty at the University of Texas, where I taught general dentistry.

My career path then took me to New Orleans, where I completed two years of post-graduate training in orthodontics and received my degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Upon graduation, I returned to Lincoln and practiced for three years with the orthodontist who completed my orthodontic treatment. It was truly a privilege to work with the same gentleman who had encouraged and inspired my orthodontic career. In addition, during my years in Lincoln, I taught clinical orthodontics at the University of Nebraska School of Dentistry.

In 1983, I accomplished another lifelong dream- to live and practice in Colorado. My wife Jan and I moved to Fort Collins, and I have been in practice here ever since.

As you might imagine, orthodontics has changed a lot since my \"tin grin\" days! To constantly expand my knowledge of orthodontics, I regularly attend continuing education courses on the latest orthodontic techniques and actively participate as a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. I will always strive to provide my patients with the very best orthodontic care available.

What can you expect from my practice, staff and I?
My practice is not volume oriented. My staff and I focus on individualized attention and meticulous, state-of-the-art specialty care in orthodontics. We are committed to providing the best orthodontic care available to all of our patients.

Our practice continues to grow through recommendations from enthusiastic patients and parents. We work hard to earn that support and are extremely grateful for it. Our patients and their families are the most important part of our practice. You can count on us to be responsive to your specific orthodontic questions as well as your personal needs.
